ENGLISH SPELLING COMPETITION BRINGS 44 OF GEORGIA'S BEST AND BRIGHTEST STUDENTS TO TBILISI FOR A NATIONAL COMPETITION!

On March 28th and 29th, the National English Spelling Competition Georgia (NESC-GE) will bring 44 of Georgia's best and brightest students to Tbilisi for its third annual English spelling competition to be held at Free and Agricultural University. The two-day event will be the culminating competition for what has been more than 6 months of hard work and preparation for these students. The students will compete to be recognized as the best speller in Georgia!

NESC-GE is a nationwide English language spelling bee for 8th -12th grade students administered by a Georgian non-profit organization with the assistance of American volunteers. The competition occurs in three stages, a local competition held in each participating school, a regional competition held in regional centers, and a national competition held in Tbilisi. It is the first competition of its kind in Georgia and has been backed by well-known partners such as Free and Agricultural University, British Petroleum, British Council, the Ministry of Education and Science, and the U.S. Embassy.

This year, NESC-GE had 2,518 students participate from 221 schools across 11 regions of Georgia. "We would like to thank all the students who took part in the competition this year!" said Davit Dopidze, the Executive Director of NESC-GE. "Additionally, we would like to give special recognition to the parents and the especially the teachers, because we know that this competition would not be possible without all their hard work and dedication to the betterment of the youth of Georgia."

NESC-GE would like to invite all interested teachers, students, and community members to this free event, which is sure to be exciting and entertaining for all. The event begins on March 28th at 10:30am in the Free and Agricultural University auditorium. NESC-GE is continually looking for support and to partner with like-minded organizations.
